Offline, for real
The device carries a local copy of your sites: drawings, zones, assets, media already pulled. No function depends on the network on site; the outbound queue empties on return.
Field
An inspection day, with no paper and no network
STONOS is first and foremost a field tool. Everything below happens on site, tablet in hand — synchronization waits for the return to the office.

The drawing by finger or pen
Zoom with the wheel or a pinch, pan, fit to window. You draw polygons, place inspection points and equipment, edit vertices with orthogonal constraints and snapping.

Photo and video without leaving the sheet
The tablet camera opens from the zone: the photo or video is attached directly, time-stamped, and can become the favourite photo of the inspection sheet.

360° views
360° panoramas and videos are viewed in the built-in viewer, attached to the zone. A ★ favourite marks the reference view.

Guided assessment
The “Assess” dialog walks through the asset class checklist — roofing, structure, tank, mechanical… — and ends in a dated, commented, historized condition rating.

Voice dictation (optional)
When a transcription service is configured, a microphone button dictates comments and findings. Without configuration the button doesn’t appear: nothing is sent anywhere.
§ 01 A typical day
What the inspector sees, in order

Morning, at the office
“My work” lists their planned inspections, tasks and assigned recommendations. They sync, preload the day’s site media if needed, and leave.

On site
They open the drawing, go down into sub-zones, annotate, photograph, comment, create tasks. Every inspected asset gets its rating through the checklist. No waiting on the network.

A finding that will be expensive
They create the recommendation on the spot: description, estimated cost, target year, linked to the zone and the asset. It will show up in the capital plan as soon as it syncs.

Back at the office
The outbound queue goes out in one pass; colleagues receive the changes at their next sync. Large media transfers in batches, without blocking the rest.
iPhone and iPad: in preparation
A companion app for iPhone and iPad is in development on the same synchronization engine as the Windows workstation: sites, zones, zone sheet with camera photos, assets and checklist assessment, annotated drawing and schedule. It targets quick surveys, complementing the Surface Pro for full inspections. Ask us where we stand.
